Reflection
To me, the subject 9225 – Communication and Service in English was mostly a revision, since I’m already familiar with the language.
It was above all nostalgic, especially to “give a name” to the verb forms, since they now come naturally to me, I ended up forgetting their technical names.
I learnt new and more formal expressions to use in meetings, as well as in letters and emails.
As for the assignments, we researched some traditions in the United Kingdom and created a meeting simulation about a product, related to the business used in the previous subject.
I enjoyed this subject, although on some days the content was too easy for me. However, I understand that some classmates had more difficulties with the language, and I still enjoyed the listening exercises, which were funny, as I liked being evaluated in this language.
English is a language that I like and use daily, both orally and in writing.
I practiced how to compose email and letters regarding meeting schedules, product presentation, complaints and responses to such complaints.
I believe that every course should have this subject, as a way to highlight the importance of this commercial language.
